TYPES OF DEVIATED NASAL SEPTUM:
Deviation of cartilage or bony framework of nasal septum from the midline associated with nasal symptoms.
A. C-SHAPED DEVIATION: Both cartilaginous & bony septum is deviated to one side.
B. S-SHAPED DEVIATION: Cartilaginous part is deviated to one side & bony part to opposite side.
C. CAUDAL DISLOCATION: Caudal end of the septum is projected over columella on one side because of subluxation of septal cartilage over the anterior nasal spine & maxillary crest.
D. SPUR: Angulation at the bony cartilaginous junction.
E. THICK SEPTUM: Due to overlapping of bone & cartilage.
F. CROOKED SEPTUM: Gross septal deformity following trauma.
