TYPES OF DEVIATED NASAL SEPTUM:

    Deviation of cartilage or bony framework of nasal septum from the midline associated with nasal symptoms.

                                   TYPES OF DEVIATED NASAL SEPTUM

 

A.      C-SHAPED DEVIATION: Both cartilaginous & bony septum is deviated to one side.

B.      S-SHAPED DEVIATION: Cartilaginous part is deviated to one side & bony part to opposite side.

C.      CAUDAL DISLOCATION: Caudal end of the septum is projected over columella on one side because of subluxation of septal cartilage over the anterior nasal spine & maxillary crest.

D.      SPUR: Angulation at the bony cartilaginous junction.

E.       THICK SEPTUM: Due to overlapping of bone & cartilage.

F.       CROOKED SEPTUM: Gross septal deformity following trauma.
